🙋♂️ About Me
I’m Zhe Tong (佟哲), a Computer Engineering undergraduate at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology enrolled in the Computer Engineering Program. In 2022, I joined the HKUST RoboMaster Team ENTERPRIZE as a mechanical engineer and media specialist, and I have since taken on the role of team captain in 2024. I was a UROP student at the Multi-I Robotic System (MIRS) Lab – MIRS@HKUST, led by Professor Yajing Shen, where I am focusing on advanced tactile sensors.
Now, I am working on 3D reconstruction related Final Year Project supervised by Prof. Shaojie Shen.
I am passionate about exploring my field of interest and aspire to pursue a Ph.D. after graduation.
📝Academic Experience
Omnidirectional Stereo Vision & Visual Odometer
2025/02 - Present
Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) Student
2024/09 - 2025/03
- Responsible for developing and fabricating a bioinspired tactile sensor and building robots for sensor testing, integration, and applications.
- Improved the magnetic-based tactile sensor by eliminating the rotation of the magnetic film, successfully advancing through several design generations.
- Designed and constructed a fully automatic tactile sensor testbench capable of exerting force on tactile sensors in all directions, significantly contributing to data collection for future sensor development. Developed multiple versions of the dexterous hand for various applications, including grasping and writing.
